Join the DNA Interest Group of the Southern California Genealogical Society (SCGS) in a hybrid meeting on Saturday, March 30 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. as we feature guest speaker Cathy Romero, who will present "The Romeros of Southern New Mexico".

Cathy presents the story of how Santiago Romero, born in Isleta, New Mexico, was actually Santiago Duran y Chavez. His bloodline slowly revealed itself through FamilyTree DNA Testing and the work of the New Mexico Genealogy Society's DNA Project.

Cathy Romero has been doing family research since 1998. She was a graphic designer who worked at Kaiser Permanente Regional Communications for 33 years. Cathy graduated from Cal State University, Los Angeles, with a BA in Design.
